Our First Week

March 7, 2025

Itโ€™s wild how fast a week goes by- especially when recovering from jet lag!

We flew from DFW to ATL for a short layover before our 8-hour and 20-minute flight to BCN.

Judah did amazing on the flight, sleeping for a little over five hours, while Valerie and I got exactly zero minutes of sleep.

Upon arriving in Barcelona, one of the missionaries here met us at the airport with a hired van to transport our six monthsโ€™ worth of luggage.

While searching for an apartment, we are staying in newly renovated and furnished dorms attached to the local churchโ€™s recently purchased building.

Previously a Catholic cathedral built in the late 1800s, the building was purchased a couple of years ago by the local church, Los Pentecostales De Barcelona, and will serve as their new home in the Gracia neighborhood of Barcelona.

As many of you know, we visited Barcelona last June for a couple of weeks to explore the possibility of moving here long-term, and God confirmed that to us. During that visit, we attended a service at one of the daughter churches, the International Pentecostal Church of Barcelona, which offers Spanish, Spanish-English bilingual, and Filipino Tagalog services.

We felt right at home when we visited last year, and in addition to working with the missionaries, we will be assisting the pastors of this church while we are here for the next six months.

To learn more about the missionary family we will be working with, you can watch this video interview: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U-KJU9HT7o0.

Iโ€™m doing my best to keep track of everything we do through this email newsletter, as well as through our separate monthly PDF newsletters, which I will also be sharing here.

Please continue to pray for us as we search for an apartment and seek to enroll in the right language school.

Dios te bendiga!
